Atamian and Volkswagen Celebrate 50 Years Together

Bob Atamian and his son Reed Atamian are celebrating 50 years in business with Volkswagen. Bob Atamian first formed the relationship with the VW brand in 1961 and has been recognized by Volkswagen for their outstanding service and commitment to excellence in the automobile business.  "Volkswagen of America, Inc. congratulates the Atamian Family on the occasion of their 50th anniversary representing Volkswagen.  Best wishes for continued success," said Chad Blake, Sales Operations Manager for Volkswagen of America.

Reed Atamian, President and Owner of Atamian Volkswagen Honda Inc., joins his father, Bob Atamian, in celebrating 50 successful years of collaboration with Volkswagen. "We are very pleased to achieve this milestone with Volkswagen," said Reed Atamian. "The Volkswagen brand is outstanding and we are happy to be able to provide our clients with the dependability Volkswagen offers."

In 1961, Bob Atamian and his brother Eli opened the Worcester VW Franchise.  After seven years of running the Worcester VW dealership, Bob made the decision to open his very own VW Franchise in Tewksbury. Reed has since succeeded his father as President and Owner of Atamian Volkswagen Honda Inc.  "Reed has done an outstanding job expanding the company to sell thousands of cars per year," said Bob Atamian.  "I am thrilled that we have been able to carry on the relationship with Volkswagen for three generations and the family looks forward to future relations with Volkswagen with my grandson Benjamin."

Home Runs with Heart

UPDATE

On Thursday, August 18, 2011, Reed Atamian of Atamian Volkswagen Honda of Tewksbury presented a check to Dr. Murray Feingold, Founder and President of The Genesis Fund. The donation is the culmination of Home Runs with Heart, a season long program the Spinners and Atamian have in place to raise awareness for the Genesis Fund; each home run by the Spinners brought with it a donation from Atamian.  Joining Reed Atamian and Dr. Murray Feingold for the presentation was Tim Bawmann, the General Manager of the Lowell Spinners, Annie Latham of The Genesis Fund, and the Murphy family, whose son Zachary has been helped by Dr. Feingold and The Genesis Fund.  The Murphy's enjoyed a night at the ballpark and a meet and greet with the Spinners players on the field of LeLacheur Park.  Reed Atamian commented on the success of the partnership, "We enjoyed working with the Spinners on behalf of the Genesis Fund.  With a number of games remaining let's hope the Spinners knock some more balls out of the park!"

Atamian Volkswagen & Honda, Inc. of Tewksbury, has partnered with the Lowell Spinners, the Class A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox to provide support and raise awareness for the Genesis Fund.

"We have partnered with the Lowell Spinners for the entire season to provide ongoing support for the Genesis Fund," said Mr. Reed Atamian, President of Atamian Volkswagen & Honda, Inc.  "Each time a Lowell Spinners player hits a home run this season, Atamian VW Honda will make a contribution to the Genesis Fund."

According to Tim Bawmann, President and General Manager of the Spinners, "The Spinners are pleased to team up with Atamian Volkswagen Honda this season to benefit the Genesis Fund.  While we don't have the Green Monster to hit homeruns over in Lowell, we hope our players set a team record this season as Atamian Volkswagen Honda has graciously offered a contribution to the Genesis Fund.  Together we all make a winning team!"

"The Genesis Fund was founded to help Children in New England with specialized medical treatment, and we knew that we would not have been able to accomplish this without our corporate contributions and fundraising events," said Dr. Murray Feingold, founder of The Genesis Fund."

All proceeds from the event will benefit The Genesis Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing specialized care to New England area children born with birth defects, genetic diseases and intellectual disabilities. Since its inception in 1982, The Genesis Fund has helped thousands of families through The Feingold Center for Children and its satellite clinics, the Pregnancy Exposure Info-Line and the Therapy and the Performing Arts program on Cape Cod. None of this could be accomplished without your kindness and support.

The Spinners season opens Friday, June 17, 2011 at LeLacheur Park.  The Spinners are also hosting this seasons New York-Penn League All Star Game on August 16, 2011.

Atamian Volkswagen Honda Supports Ocean Matters

In an effort to raise awareness of trouble facing our oceans, Mr. Terry Atamian has made various donations to Ocean Matters - a summer marine biology program headquartered in Uxbridge, MA. This interactive program gives students a hands-on and ?heads-under? approach to marine biology and prepares them with real world experience.

"I have lived near the ocean my whole life," said Mr. Terry Atamian.  ?I?m also an avid fisherman and look for ways to support both oceanic research and my local community. Ocean Matters combines two of my passions."

In support of the program, Mr. Terry Atamian has made a monetary donation towards helping Ocean Matters send young participants to two different dive site in Grand Cayman.  The dive sites will allow the participants to gather important information used by the local Department of the Environment.

In addition to a monetary contribution, Mr. Atamian has generously donated an up close and personal tour at the Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, MA to be used in an Ocean Matters silent auction at their annual fundraiser.  The package features various choices of events and private tours for the winner to participate in.  The Marine Biological Laboratory is an international center for research, education, and training in biology, biomedicine, and ecology.

"Ocean Matters is grateful for the generous support of Atamian VW/Honda for our scholarship drive," said Executive Director of Ocean Matters, Laura Parker Roerden.  "Such support tells young people that we find their work to protect the coral reef worthy of our attention."

About Ocean Matters:

Ocean Matters offers Summer Marine Biology programs for young people and educators.

Ocean Matters mission is to support young people and educators in developing the skills, knowledge, and convictions to be stewards for the marine ecosystem.

The marine biologists/educators at Ocean Matters believe that all students can meet high academic standards -- as long as they have support and a desire to do so. The program is academically rigorous in order to give students a realistic view of college-level study in marine biology so that they might "try on for size" a career in science. Unlike in college, however, you will be supported thoroughly to succeed in your studies -- through one-on-one study sessions with faculty, intensive writing seminars, and other special tutoring sessions.

Ocean Matters classes are hands-on and interactive, a 'heads-under' approach (as one student described it) where your studies center around daily dives on the reef. You will not be required to regurgitate information, but rather synthesize what you're learning and form your own questions from observations you've made in the field, and then design methods to answer those questions.
